WHAT WE BELIEVE

Core Beliefs

GOD

We believe in the indescribable God of the Bible: Father, Son, and Spirit. Within this interdependent unity, known as the Trinity, there are three persons of one essential nature. God’s infinite essence is best described as Holy Love. All of His other eternal and majestic attributes are governed by LOVE.

JESUS CHRIST

We believe by faith and confirm by fact that Jesus Christ is undeniably the Son of God and the only way to the Father. He was born of a virgin, lived without sin, suffered in our place on the cross, died and rose again, now sits at the Father’s right hand, and will return to judge all humanity. He paid the price for our sin, gave his life to ransom us, and is the Savior of the World. All who put their faith in Him and follow His teachings have eternal life.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that God sent his Spirit at Pentecost to show humanity its sin and teach us the deep truths of the Bible, God’s word. He is ever present, assuring, preserving, guiding, gifting, and enabling followers of Jesus to love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love their neighbor. The fruits of the Spirit are the evidence of His work in a person’s life.

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible to be the voices of many coming before us, inspired by God and speaking to us today. The Bible is without error and absolutely true. God calls us to immerse ourselves in this authoritative narrative and faithfully live our part of His story today.

SALVATION

We believe the salvation Christ provides is God’s plan to redeem our fallen world, including every part of us. God’s grace leads people to Jesus Christ, and a response of repentance and faith takes a person from death to life, from darkness to light, and they become a child of God. God gives us this ability, but the act is of our will. Our repentance is “the key” opening the door of faith leading to salvation. God saves us from our sin and saves us for victorious living.

HOLINESS

We believe God calls every follower of Jesus to be Christ-like. We must fully surrender to God’s work in us and His will for our lives. The Bible clearly teaches believers to work out our salvation and that God’s will is for us to be “sanctified.” Christ forgives ALL our sin and PURIFIES us from ALL unrighteousness. Holiness is a journey, not a destination, and we must allow this deep reconstructive work to penetrate and heal our original, sinful nature – the old man – as we continually put on the NEW life of Christ.

THE CHURCH

We believe God calls us to live in authentic relationships in the context of community. Making disciples, Motivating believers, and Multiplying followers of Jesus is what the church is called to do. We want to be a place for people who are not here yet: Any person, Any place, Any price. We must experience for ourselves and display the resurrected Christ, living in and through us, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to touch people and give them hope.

ETERNAL DESTINY

We believe everyone lives forever and eternal life begins the moment a person accepts Jesus as their Savior. The Bible teaches there is a conscious personal existence after death. The final destiny of each person is determined by God’s grace and each person’s response, evidenced inevitably by a moral character which results from an individual’s personal and willful choices. Heaven is the final home of those who choose the salvation which God provides through Jesus Christ, but hell, with its everlasting misery and separation from God, is the final home of those who reject this great salvation. This sobering reality drives us to LIVE, LOVE and LEAD like JESUS in order to tell reach as many people as we can.
